MINYAN is a vision for a new kind of Jewish life in Israel; woven from the audacity of our generation's creative leaders and the mysticism, warmth, and wisdom of Jewish tradition.
We collaborate with artists, designers, writers, musicians, and creators of many shapes and forms to re-imagine and reclaim Jewish life . We believe in opening hearts and minds and sanctify "both/and:" tradition and change, the visceral and the ethereal, the sacred and the day-to-day.
We craft experiences that are in tune with the rhythm of the city, linking timeless Jewish traditions to the pulse of contemporary existence. We create alternative, meaningful Jewish spaces where everyone can find a sense of belonging and feel at home.
A MINYAN is the foundational unit of Jewish community. Ten people (the first person as essential as the last) gathering to sanctify space and time. We believe that each of us is able to break boundaries and preconceptions, to build a new home where everyone can feel a sense of belonging.
Our initiatives are designed with creative leaders to not just connect but to rejuvenate Jewish identity, making it relevant, accessible, and profoundly impactful in modern life. We're dedicated to reshaping the Jewish cultural scene in Israel, fostering environments where spirituality and connection flourish.
MINYAN Shabbat
Our Shabbat experience starts with 20 strangers and end with one big family, between gracious hospitality and lively text study we open a gateway to a new dimension of community and practice.
We believe that a sacred time in Jewish tradition gives us the chance to connect to ourselves, one another, and something greater.
MINYAN Beit Midrash
Our Beit Midrash takes over wine bars, coffeeshop and lofts and turn them into spaces of vibrant of discussion, disagreement and discovery. Through Jewish texts we learn how to navigate our day to day life.
We believe that we have the right and responsibility to learn, interpret and expand the canon of Jewish thought and wisdom.
MINYAN Holidays and Ritual
Our gatherings breathe new life into Jewish traditions, translating age-old rituals into the culture of today—crafting spaces for inspiration, connection, and self-discovery.
We believe that each generation is a new chapter in Jewish life, introducing innovative practices, fresh voices, and visionary perspectives. Traditions thrive on transformation, inviting each of us to engage with and reshape them with our personal journey.
MINYAN is creating innovative and inclusive expressions of Jewish community, identity and ritual in Israel by harnessing the influence and creativity of young adults.
We believe that if we can inspire the next generation to reclaim Jewish identity in their own image, we can reposition Jewish ritual and tradition as the connective tissue of Israeli society and build scalable models of community engagement and experiences.
Lipaz Ela is the CEO and Founder of MINYAN. She is an educator and an experience designer that works with highly influential young people to develop, preserve, and reclaim Jewish life in Israel. She is grounded in the belief that through Jewish text, wisdom, and ritual we can forge connections within ourselves, with one another, and with the values we hold most dear.
She has worked with organizations such as the Jewish Agency for Israel, WZO, Hillel, and VIBE Israel to create curricula and strategies that translate Israel and Jewish life into the cultural language of young people.
Lipaz lives in Tel Aviv-Jaffa and holds a Master’s Degree in Pluralistic Jewish Education from the Hebrew University and Hebrew Union College in Jerusalem and a Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science from Bar Ilan University.
She is currently a Honey Fellow and aspires to begin her rabbinical studies soon.
